Labels - Audio session changes - Bugfixes
It has taken us a while, but this is our largest update to date!
Some of these changes will require action by the user for Dot X to work properly so I will start with those changes.
Changes to Audio Sessions
First, the session volume is now being changed on all output devices, instead of just the default output.
If an app has multiple sessions, it should now change the volume of all sessions. Before, this was a bit buggy, as you needed to have all the sessions open when adding the app to a channel. The other sessions got a new name, like Discord(2). This is no longer needed, but you might see traces of it in your current channel settings. If you see a program with the number behind it, you can safely uncheck it from the selected programs list.
Another large change is how we name the sessions.
Before, we used the process file name to get the name of the audio session. This had unforeseen issues, like some apps not getting a name due to Windows restrictions. Therefore, we moved to App Description instead for naming of Audio Sessions.
This might cause the apps currently selected to a channel not to work as they used to.
To make sure you get the latest session names, as well as clear old session names, we recommend clearing all channel programs and adding them again.
This brings us to another new addition, the clearing of settings.
Reset settings
It is now possible to clear settings easily. Thanks to @Armitag3 in our Discord for the suggestion!
Labels
It is now possible to give channels a custom label! This suggestion also came from @Armitag3 via our feedback page:)
To add a custom label to a channel;
Click on the channel you want to change the label of
Once the modal is open, click on the Settings tab
Select a label type and find an icon, image, or text for the channel!
Bug fixes
The MIDI bug which caused high CPU usage on one of the cores is now fixed. Thanks to @Kementh and @blitzdose in our Discord for the detailed bug reports!
As mentioned above, some apps did not appear in the active apps list. This has now been resolved.
Fix a bug where you needed to double press the add app and settings button to open the modals.
That's it for this release! If you have any improvements you would like to see or find any bugs, please send a message in Discord, or add it to the feedback page:)
